Why Make This?

Since December 2021, the community I called home was always pushed towards Phase. They were edgy, never pulled their punches, and made me genuinely laugh. During Phase Wars 1 we made shitposts and propaganda, we were excited for Pippa's feet, at cons we cheered for the underdogs even if just to say hi. I was there for Nekomiya Hinata's first video in February 2018, Minato Aqua's debut in August 2018, Coco, Haachama, Hololive EN Debuts, Hololive EN Connect the World, Phase Connect Phase Wars in 2021... the little Gems we got in the Discord Server for being a member of someone's channel, all 3 purges of the server, all of the drama, heartbreak, but also friendship.

This community beats out every other I've ever been in, helped with, made friends in, and cheered for. Every time we get knocked down by someone, the talents and us fans get right back up. We keep pushing forward. The desire to do better, be better, and be SOMEONE is that fire burning in all of us.

We're the outcasts. The ones not popular enough for major game collabs. The ones whose artists don't get the likes, commissions, or views that the big dogs do. But we haven't been clawing our way to the top following in the footsteps of those who came before us or grew faster. We're making our own paths. We're singing in private room parties, attending each other's weddings, supporting each other, and always offering a hand to those in need.

In businesses and other cringe places they always say "uhuhuh we're a family everyone don't forget!" then lay off a ton of people. Phase is the one place that I think we forced to become one. We all watch each other's backs. Support each other online. Call out someone's bs whenever we get a little bit too schizo.

To every single one of you, thank you. You all are a part of this. This home for us outcasts. The ones not outgoing enough for the big dogs. The ones who want something local, or small, or fan-made. Management, the OG backers, even Sakana himself gave us and the girls the reins long ago and let us run with it, praying we didn't crash and burn. And I think we made it. We did it. I don't see an end in sight and I pray internally there isn't one yet.

Phasefan.art is this love letter visualized. Every artist, piece of merch, birthday, debut, and project I eventually want here. Because we deserve it. The new people who find us can see how much time and effort we've put into our passion. Let's show them all how amazing we are.
